Our Easter Holiday YogaHikes break was at the stunning new location of Lanehead. We were based just outside the lovely village of Coniston in the Lake District.
We had a fantastic group of 24 who were here for 4 nights and days of yoga and fantastic hikes in this stunning area of the lakes.
The house itself for our holiday YogaHikes break, was beautiful and gave us great views of the lake, a fantastic room for yoga, a gorgeous garden for outdoor yoga and a lovely room for eating.
As we were a larger group than normal we had a choice of yoga class each day and a choice of hikes.
The yoga classes were split into gentler/improver and intermediate level, which meant we could tailor the level of instruction much more to the needs of the group. We could also keep the classes to a maximum size of around 12.
The hiking groups were also split into two and so everyone could choose the level of hike they wanted to do. We had two extra walk leaders and so offered an opportunity to hike the summits of the Old Man of Coniston, plus Wetherlam and others in the area.
For those who prefer their hiking without such steep climbs we offered lower level hikes each day to explore the Lake shore and surrounding area.
On the last day we still managed to get some height and great views from the highest point in Grizedale forest and over the lake on our hike.
All the food for the weekend was provided by Yen and Kevin and we had a great selection of homemade granola, cereals, eggs and toast for breakfast each day.
Lunch was a packed lunch each day from a wide selection of ingredients, rolls, fruit, bars and crisps which everyone was able to help themselves to.
Each day after our hikes we had tea and Yen’s delicious homemade cakes.
Finally dinner was a delicious spread of vegetarian meals, with salads and more of Yen’s homemade deserts.
It was the perfect Easter weekend break. Gorgeous sunny weather, great hikes, plenty of yoga, fantastic food and a really fun group who made the most of a great weekend in a fantastic location.
